HP wants to be a 3D printing giant with new ‘Multi Jet Fusion’ tech

HP has just disclosed a lot extra information in regards to the 3D printing technology it teased dramatically several months past. It is called “Multi Jet Fusion,” and also the firm believes it can “change entire industries.” The initial aim was to make things are built by 3D printers at much, much faster, speeds and higher resolution. Depending on the demos we saw today, that claim appears attainable. Fundamentally, the 3D printer assembles parts similar to how an inkjet printer makes files — the “ink” is applied to some substance coating, then heated and fused to build up layers (see below). That’s substantially different to how mainstream 3D printers function, and HP said that it could make products like equipment ten times faster than conventional manufacturing techniques.
